Where did we get our name? Shortly after the 1800′s there was a drover’s Inn, on this location. With accommodations for travelers and drovers who were using the turnpike. A major route for moving cattle, hogs, turkeys and other commodities from Tennessee and Kentucky to markets in the south, such as Charleston. This location became know as Pleasant Bank Inn, also a loading point for Ottingers Ferry, crossing the river. The old turnpike road is still located were it was 200 years ago along the beautiful river. In this setting you can enjoy the quietness of the countryside and the French Broad River, which is used today for white water rafting in NC. You can often see wildlife such as deer, geese and turkeys, that will some times come into your front yard. We have two great lodging options and can comfortably sleep a total of 8 people. One cabin sleeps six and the other cabin is perfect for two.Today you can enjoy the farm and young orchard along with organic vegetables, and flowers being grown on the family farm. We purchased Mountainside Cabins in May of 2018 – a vacation rental business consisting of 5 custom built, rustic, mountainside, cabins on a single lane, mountain, dirt road that has been been in business for over 30 years.  We are located in Historic Hot Springs, North Carolina. Our WATERFALL COTTAGE is within sight and sound of the iconic Cane Creek Falls. It is a 2BR/2BA getaway in a very special, unique location. It is located 5 miles from the lodge and is NOT part of the B and B. It is only 5 minutes from the town square. Two night minimum stay is required.

This vacation rental is a 2BR/2BA cottage located in the very unique and special, gated location within sight and sound of the iconic Cane Creek Falls. The Waterfall Cottage is the second one downstream of the falls. A large screened porch with dining table and comfortable seating area and other viewing areas will give you the sense of really being with nature as the cottage is about fifty feet from Cane Creek. Lots on either side are vacant. It has two bedrooms with one king and one queen bed and two full baths, wood-burning fireplace (we supply the initial wood), free WiFi, Smart TV, DVD player & DVDs, land-line phone with unlimited USA long distance (cell service is spotty), and a lower covered deck with porch swing. Breakfast is not provided, but we do provide coffee and all the basic needs for cooking. We provide camp chairs for you to use to sit by the falls. Cane Creek is a designated trout stream now open year-round, and you must have a valid license to fish. We use the Waterfall Cottage as our own get-away when not rented and thoroughly enjoy spending time there. There are hiking trails starting at the property line, and you can also check out http://www.hikedahlonega.com . The falls area is rich in history as a Native American gathering place with netting holes and petroglyphs etched in the rocks by the falls.

The TREE TOP ROOM is a 1BR/1BA wing of the owner’s home, but is very private with lots of deck and screened or sun room porch space perched in the trees. This unit includes maid service and breakfast at the lodge. Seasonal views and a nice view of our ponds. Weekends from mid-September to December 31st and some festivals & holidays require a two-night minimum stay.

This room is located in the North wing of the owner’s home on a lot adjacent to the lodge (not the same building as the B&B – short drive or walk ) with a large private deck and private screened-in porch (glassed-in with electric heater November through May to be used as a sun room) overlooking both Big Spring and Little Spring Trout Ponds. You will hear the cascading waterfall that empties into the nearby Little Spring Pond. Access is via a stairway leading from a private parking spot. Amenities include free WiFi, flat screen TV with Direct TV service, separate heat and air conditioning, maid service, mini fridge, microwave, iron & ironing board and coffee maker (organic, free-trade coffee provided). The bath room has a shower, lighted shaving / make-up mirror and vessel sink. Breakfast at the B and B is included. This room, decks and surrounding areas are NON-SMOKING. No pets are allowed, and the maximum capacity is two people. Catch & release fishing can be enjoyed in our Big Pond and walking trails are throughout our 14 acres.

We provide paper towels, toilet paper, coffee filters (but no coffee and creamer), dish detergent, dish cloth and drying towel, trash bags, and plastic wrap.
