The large screen TV in the living room is also a smart TV, which makes it easy to watch Netflix, Hulu or other TV subscriptions.
If you enjoy cooking family meals on vacation, you’ll find the kitchen to be one of the better-stocked kitchens available in a rental cabin. The handcrafted dining room table seats 6 to 8, and the kitchen counter has four seats. A four-burner grill just outside the kitchen makes it easy to grill for a crowd.

The Belle Of Hot Springs is an Historic Inn located in the small mountain Town of Hot Springs, North Carolina at the foothills of the Appalachian Trail. The Belle was built in 1924 as a residential home to house the young women who attended the Dorland-Bell School For Girls which is now the esteemed Warren Wilson College. Where did we get our name? Shortly after the 1800′s there was a drover’s Inn, on this location. With accommodations for travelers and drovers who were using the turnpike. A major route for moving cattle, hogs, turkeys and other commodities from Tennessee and Kentucky to markets in the south, such as Charleston. This location became know as Pleasant Bank Inn, also a loading point for Ottingers Ferry, crossing the river. The old turnpike road is still located were it was 200 years ago along the beautiful river. Briar Rose Farm is an old mountain farm nestled in the steep slopes of the southern Appalachian Mountains. We are 30 miles northwest of Asheville and 17 miles south of Hot Springs.
The Sweet Briar Cabin is nestled on an 89-acre farm. The cabin has one cozy bedroom complete with a queen bed. There is a sitting area under a covered deck right through the bedroom’s sliding doors. We are a small, family-run Bed & Breakfast-style Rustic Mountain Retreat, designed in the spirit of the Great Lodges of older times and ancient places, nestled deep in the mountains of Southern Appalachia along the North Carolina/ Tennessee border. The name Kana’ti is in honor of the first chief of the first people: The Cherokee and earlier Woodland tribes who, according to archaeological evidence, used this area for thousands of years as a hunting ground for Mammoth, Bison, Elk and Deer migrating up and down the Bald Mountain Ranges as the ice caps retreated northward. The lodge itself is constructed of mostly local materials, many of which were reclaimed from old cabins and barns around the Southern Appalachian region. Every part of the building tells a story – the passing age of tobacco in barn poles and hand-rived stakes, restored windows and doors from a local school, and flooring and siding harvested from our own land.

Climb the spiral staircase to the loft bedroom featuring another comfy queen bed and queen futon with a full bath including shower. (Please note: Spiral staircase has a weight limit of 250lbs). Each bedroom offers you privacy and quiet when you retire in the evenings. Perfect for additional guests or children, there is also a twin sleeper sofa to accommodate everyone in your group. This home offers one level living for those that cannot climb steps and the entry is level with no steps.
The kitchen of this rental is light and airy, stocked with everything you need to prepare a meal in your mountain getaway. Featuring a breakfast bar with seating for 6 and dining table with seating for 4 and more, the kitchen is a great place to make some cookies or prepare a delicious dinner. You are sure to enjoy the large window that offers gorgeous river views from the kitchen.
The living area boasts a large living room with a television, gas log fireplace and beautiful river views. The owners grew up in the area and saw potential for starting a cabin rental business. The first cabin was quickly rented by visitors, prompting us to build two more cabins and a house. Now, we are one of the most successful vacation rental businesses in Crumpler.
Our location is 15 minutes away from three restaurants, giving you enough choices for meals. A Rural King Store (like a Tractor Supply store), drug store, post office, and a home center are just a half-hour drive. Please contact us for more information about our rentals.
We currently have 4 cabins available! Two sleep 8 (3 queen beds and a couch that makes a bed), are wheelchair accessible, have a kitchen area with full size refrigerators. Two are part of a duplex, they are adjoining cabins through a communicating door. These two cabins have 2 queen bunks and two half bunks and a couch that makes a bed for a total of 8 persons. They have full kitchens with a stove and refrigerator. There is a large parking area to accommodate trucks with large trailers. They are located in the Matoaka, West Virginia area. There is a community connector in Matoaka that takes you to the Hatfield and McCoy trails. You can also easily access outlaw trails from our location. There are local amenities such as car wash and a gas station that can be accessed from your ATV. We are also about a 20 minute vehicle drive from Princeton, West Virginia, where you can find plenty places to eat or shop. Our cabins are reasonably priced at $65.00 a night for the two cabins with wheelchair accommodations and 80.00 a night each for the cabins in the duplex.
The ride: There are paved roads that you will have to hit to access some of the trails, but most still come with great views! The town of Matoaka is an ATV friendly town so there is no issues with hitting the main road to access the outlaw trails or the Hatfield and McCoy community connector.
